Regulatory Compliance & Complaint/Risk Mitigation
Resolv
ensures that your facility is not only tracking performance level but measuring it - a key component in the Agenda for Change designed by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
According
to JCAHO:
In 1987, the Joint Commission first announced the Agenda for Change, which outlined a series of major steps designed to modernize the accreditation process. A key component of the Agenda for Change was the integration of performance measurement data into the accreditation process through the implementation of the ORYX initiative. The introduction of standardized core performance measures into the ORYX initiative in 2002 will, for the first time ever, permit rigorous comparison of the actual results of care across hospitals.
Performance measurement in healthcare represents what is being done within your facility and how well it is being done. The goal is to accurately understand the basis for current performance so that better results can be achieved through focused improvement actions.
Performance measurement is used internally by health care organizations to support performance improvement and externally, to demonstrate accountability to the public and other interested stakeholders. Performance measurement benefits the health care organization by providing statistically valid, data-driven mechanisms that generate a continuous stream of performance information. This enables a health care organization to understand how well their organization is doing over time and have continuous access to objective data to support claims of quality. The organization can verify the effectiveness of corrective actions; identify areas of excellence within the organization; and compare their performance with that of peer organizations using the same measures. Similarly, performance data can be used by external stakeholders to make value-based decisions on where to seek quality health care.

Resolv captures, tracks
and analyzes comments. How this works: first, patient comment information (through such sources as phone calls, internal comment cards, letters and surveys) is entered into the database by a user.
Resolv
then automatically monitors and distributes this comment information in real-time to the appropriate offices and personnel for action and resolution. The action history of the comment is saved within the database and password protected, so that only designated employees will have access. All comments follow a series of steps and internal resolution processes until the issue has been resolved.
Once a comment has been input into the system, various form letters and numerous other response methods can be quickly and easily generated to inform the patient that their issue is being reviewed - a requirement of regulatory agencies.
Resolv can also be set
up with a preset list of risk managementcategories. If a comment is categorized as a risk management or safety issue, the comment is automatically flagged as URGENT and designated employees are notified immediately so that resolution will not be delayed.
